The European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE) is pleased to support the 27^th Prodexpo Real Estate Conference, taking place on 14–15 October 2026 at the Athens Conservatoire in Athens, Greece.

Prodexpo is one of Greece's leading annual real estate events, bringing together institutional investors, property developers, policymakers, engineers and other professionals involved in shaping the future of the built environment.

ECCE will also contribute directly to this year's conference programme through the participation of its President, Mr Platonas Stylianou, as a speaker in the panel discussion:

"The Engineer's Perspective: Overcoming Retrofitting and Renovation Challenges"

The discussion will highlight the engineer's perspective on the challenges associated with renovating and upgrading the existing building stock. It will also provide an opportunity to underline the importance of involving qualified engineers throughout the renovation process to ensure that interventions improve not only energy performance, but also structural safety, resilience, accessibility and the long-term quality of buildings.

At a time when building renovation is central to Europe's climate, housing and urban-development objectives, ECCE continues to advocate for engineering expertise to be integrated from the earliest stages of policy development, planning and project delivery.
