  On 2003 and 2004 the Metro of Athens is emerged the first in the Europe in the quality of provided services to the passengers thus measuring the index European Performance Satisfaction Index (EPSI) by the European Organization for Quality (EOQ). EPSI combined with Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) is an appropriate benchmarking system, comparing after accredited opinion researches the Customer Satisfaction (with more than 20 parameters) between companies and economy branches. The Athens Metro Operation Company, governed by V.P. Economopoulos had a yearly average operational surplus (EBITDA) amounted to 15 million euros. V.P. Economopoulos had a very important contribution to the operational connection between the Athens International Airport (AIA) and the centre of the Athens City by Metro before the Olympic Games 2004. The Transportation Sector gained “the first golden medal” because of its perfect operation at the Athens Olympic Games 2004.

• Coordinator of training seminars within the framework of European Social Fund (ESF) in various matters (earthquake engineering, geotechnical engineering, concrete technologies, environmental impact assessments, occupational safety for workers e.t.c.). (1992 – 1995)
• Coordinator of seminar courses with the subject “Consultants on the management of the Projects within the framework of European Programmes and Initiatives”. (1997 – 2003)
• Coordinator of the transnational project within the framework of Community Initiative EUROFORM I with the subject “Restoration of monuments and buildings of special cultural importance”.
